Played on the traditional Karadeniz Kemençesi (Black Sea Kemenche), this video brings you the pure, acoustic essence of Northern Türkiye's coastal soundscapes—where the mountains drop straight into the sea, and the music carries the mist of the highlands.

Whether you need focus music for studying, a relaxing background for work, or a authentic cultural journey through Anatolian folk traditions, let these mesmerizing bow strokes transport you to the lush green valleys of Rize, Trabzon, Artvin, and Ordu.

About the Instrument:
The Karadeniz Kemençesi is a classical three-stringed bowed box fiddle unique to the Eastern Black Sea region of Türkiye. Known for its distinct, sharp sound and short fingerboard movements, it requires incredible agility to play. It traditionally accompanies the Horon—a high-energy dance characterized by rapid shoulder movements and quick footwork that mimics the energetic movements of anchovies (hamsi) jumping in the Black Sea waters.
